Stevs Tubes

Steve Jaumotte, aka Stev's Tubes is an amazing artist and glass blower. He is not new to the scene! Stev started blowing in the glass Mecca Eugene, Oregon in 1999. He was rising fast as a glass blower learning the trade before Operation Pipe Dreams through a wrench in his plans, as it did for so many of us old school glass industry vets.

But perhaps the timing of the government crackdown on American made glass pipes was all part of the plan; because Stev started learning under David Popawitz, the lead glass blower for Jerome Baker Designs. It was from this apprenticeship where Stev mastered his skill at manipulating the glass to form his amazing sculptures.

Stev is a journeyman! Always ready for the next trip. He currently works at a glass shop in Eugene making branded scientific glass products, but he still finds the time to make his unique sculptured glass water pipes for Smokin Js. It's hard to find glass like his in the market, but us old school warriors tend to stick together. Stev enjoys blowing glass because of the meditative state he achieves while melting the borosilicate. We are always happy to receive the benefits of his mediation.
